Man Charged with assault and theft

Police in Paddock Wood have arrested and charged a man in connection with a string of offences including theft, assault and driving whilst disqualified. Joseph Smith, aged 22 and of no fixed address was located by officers at an address in Fuggles Close, on 17 May 2018. He was taken into custody and subsequently charged with using threatening or abusive behaviour, two counts of assault, dangerous driving, driving without insurance, driving whilst disqualified, theft, handling stolen goods and for travelling on a railway without paying a fare. The offences are alleged to have happened between 22 January 2018 and 15 May 2018, in areas including Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells and Lenham. Mr Smith was remanded in custody to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on 18 May.
