Man Fighting for Life After Moped Crash on A2 in Blackheath

A man in his 40s remains in critical condition after a serious moped crash on the A2 Shooters Hill Road in Blackheath.

The crash occurred at approximately 4:15 am on Monday (February 24). Emergency services, including London’s Air Ambulance, London Ambulance Service, and Metropolitan Police, responded to the scene.

Investigation Ongoing

According to the Metropolitan Police, no other vehicles were involved in the collision. Officers are now appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage to help establish the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A police spokesperson confirmed today (February 25) that the man remains fighting for his life in hospital, more than 33 hours after the accident.

Road Closures and Reopening

Following the crash, authorities closed Shooters Hill Road between Charlton Way and Stratheden Road while emergency services worked at the scene. The road has since reopened.

The Metropolitan Police are urging anyone who may have seen the incident or captured dashcam footage to come forward.
