Man jailed for strangulation, assault and criminal damage

Kenneth Romney, aged 53, of Myrtle Crescent, Slough, was jailed for three years following a hearing at Reading Crown Court. He was also made subject to restraining orders against his two victims.

At the same court, Romney pleaded guilty to one count each of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, intentional strangulation and criminal damage at a hearing on 31 January.

He also previously pleaded guilty to one count each of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and criminal damage at a hearing on 19 October last year.

Romney was acquitted of one count of rape by unanimous jury verdict.

Meanwhile, one count of sexual assault is to lie on file.
