Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was robbed in Basingstoke on Friday (23 March) at about 8.45am. The victim was in a white Audi R8 at the mini roundabout at the junction of Cufaude Lane, Hanmore Road and Crockford Lane, when a moped approached on the right-hand side and the male rider asked for the time. The man told the moped rider the time and held out his arm to show him on his watch. It is at this point the moped rider pulled the watch – a Tag Heuer Calibe 16 worth about £4,500 – from the victim’s arm. The victim pushed the suspect, causing him to fall off of his moped. An altercation then ensured, before both people left the scene. The moped rider rode off with the watch, towards Hanmore Road, down Thornhill Way and then onto a footpath. The suspect was described as: White About 18-20-years-old About 65-70kg He was wearing a large, black jacket; black trainers; blue jeans and a black helmet with a red strap.
