A man has been given a minimum of nine years in prison for the killing of Aidan Mann, a well-known tattoo artist in Northern Ireland. The 28-year-old artist, also known as Zen Black, was brutally stabbed 14 times on Church Street in Downpatrick in January 2022. The court determined that Mann was an entirely innocent victim who did nothing to provoke the fatal attack.

Barry Donnelly, 38, residing on Church Street in Downpatrick, pleaded guilty to manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility. He received an indeterminate custodial sentence at Belfast Crown Court on Tuesday, with the judge stating that Donnelly must serve a minimum of nine years before being considered for release.
