A man has been sentenced to one year and six months in prison and issued a five-year restraining order following a guilty plea to multiple offences, including intentional strangulation, in an investigation conducted by Thames Valley Police.
Michal Wojdyla, 40, residing at Woodstock Close, Maidenhead, received his sentencing at Reading Crown Court on Friday, January 12. The court’s decision comes after Wojdyla pleaded guilty to charges on November 8, including one count each of intentional strangulation, actual bodily harm, and criminal damage. A charge related to taking a vehicle without consent was left on file.
The incident in question occurred on June 17, 2023, when Wojdyla subjected his victim to a brutal assault upon her return home. During the attack, he threw eggs and cat litter at her, pulled her hair, punched her in the face, and strangled her. Additionally, he damaged various items within the residence, including throwing a table at the victim and ripping her shirt. Following these acts of violence, he threatened to kill her and made off in her car.
