A man in his 30s remains in critical condition after a suspected road rage incident in Bexleyheath during the early hours of yesterday morning (August 20).
The altercation occurred on Erith Road near Mayplace Road around 5:25 a.m. Emergency services, including officers from the Metropolitan Police and the London Ambulance Service, attended the scene where they found the injured man. He was promptly taken to the hospital, where he continues to receive treatment for his injuries.
Initial investigations suggest that the man sustained his injuries following an altercation with the occupant of another vehicle at the scene.
A 24-year-old man was arrested shortly after on suspicion of grievous bodily harm (GBH). He was taken to a police station in south London and has since been bailed pending further enquiries.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “Officers investigating a possible road rage incident in Bexley have made an arrest. At this early stage, it is believed the man sustained his injuries following an altercation with the occupant of another vehicle.”
The police are appealing for anyone with information that may assist their investigation to come forward.
