Murder Investigation Launched After Fatal Stabbing of Woman in Enfield

A murder investigation has been launched following the tragic death of a 45-year-old woman who was fatally stabbed in Enfield on Saturday evening.

Emergency services were called to a property in Ayley Croft at approximately 7:00pm on April 19, following reports of a stabbing. Officers from the Metropolitan Police arrived at the scene alongside London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance.

Despite the best efforts of medical teams, the woman was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

At this early stage in the investigation, no arrests have been made.

Detective Chief Inspector Neil John, who is leading the investigation, said:

“Our thoughts are with the victim’s family at this difficult time. As our investigation continues, there will be an increased police presence in the area and a crime scene remains in place.

“We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who was driving through Ayley Croft between 6:30pm and 7:30pm and may have dashcam footage. No detail is too small.”

He urged anyone with information to contact the police on 101, quoting CAD 5741/19APRIL.

Detective Chief Superintendent Caroline Haines, Borough Commander for Enfield, added:

“We understand the concern that this will cause local residents. Neighbourhood officers will be working alongside specialist detectives to support the community and provide reassurance in the coming days.”

Anyone wishing to remain anonymous can share information by contacting Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.

Police are asking the public to remain vigilant and report anything suspicious as they continue to piece together the events leading up to the woman’s tragic death.
