Teen Arrested Following Double Stabbing in Tilehurst – UKNIP

Officers investigating a double stabbing in Tilehurst on Saturday night have made an arrest. A 14-year-old boy from Berkshire has been taken into custody on suspicion of attempted murder and grievous bodily harm. He remains in police custody at this time.

The arrest is related to an incident that took place on Lucey Close, Tilehurst, at around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 12th. Two 16-year-old boys were injured in the attack, suffering stab wounds. One of the boys remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition, while the other has since been discharged.

Senior investigating officer Detective Chief Inspector Mike Hall, based at Newbury police station, provided an update, stating, “We remain in the early stages of this investigation, but have now made one arrest. I would ask people not to speculate as to the circumstances surrounding this incident, but I would like to renew my appeal for anybody who witnessed what happened on Saturday night, and who has not already made contact with police, to please do so.”

DCI Hall also expressed appreciation for the local community’s support. “We have been very grateful for the support the local community have shown so far and appreciate all those who have come forward with information,” he said. He reiterated his request for people not to share any images or footage on social media but to report such information directly to the police.
