A person has died after being struck on the railway line at Broxbourne station early this morning.
Emergency services were called to the station just before 6.40am following reports of a casualty on the tracks. Despite the efforts of paramedics, the individual was pronounced dead at the scene.
British Transport Police confirmed the death is not being treated as suspicious and said a file will now be prepared for the coroner.

Rail disruption
The incident caused major disruption on the rail network, with all lines closed between Bishop’s Stortford and Broxbourne for nearly three hours.
Services affected included Greater Anglia and Stansted Express trains operating between Cambridge, Stansted Airport, Hertford East and London Liverpool Street.
By mid-morning, services were beginning to return to normal, but passengers were warned that delays and cancellations would continue until at least noon.
