A person has tragically died after being struck by a train on the London Euston rail line, resulting in widespread disruption for commuters during the Thursday morning rush hour.

Emergency services were called to the tracks near Rugeley Trent Valley station in Staffordshire at around 6.30am today (20 March). Despite the swift arrival of British Transport Police and paramedics, the individual was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
