Police Dog Skye Assists in Arresting Three Suspects Following Burglary in Warminster

A swift response by law Police, aided by the exceptional skills of police dog Skye, resulted in the arrest of three individuals suspected of burglary in Warminster.

Officers responded to an alarm activation at Lidl in Station Road at approximately 2 am this morning (February 13). Upon arrival, it was discovered that intruders had broken in and stolen food and alcohol from the premises.

Accompanied by her handler, police dog Skye was deployed to the scene to assist in the search. While investigating the area, Skye and her handler heard another alarm sounding nearby. Without hesitation, they followed the sound, which led them to discover voices in the vicinity.

With Skye’s keen sense of smell and tracking abilities, the team successfully located two individuals hiding in a hedge, along with rucksacks containing stolen alcohol. Undeterred, Skye continued her search, leading to the discovery of a third suspect hiding in another hedge, along with additional stolen goods.

The three suspects, aged 15 and 16, were promptly arrested on suspicion of burglary and taken into custody at Gablecross for questioning. They remain in custody as inquiries into the incident continue.

This successful operation highlights the invaluable contribution of police dogs like Skye in apprehending suspects and preventing further criminal activity.
