Police have released an image of a man who they believe may have crucial information regarding a baby abduction attempt on a train.
The alarming incident occurred on Saturday, August 17, at approximately 7:30 pm . A mother, carrying her baby, was preparing to disembark from the train at Worksop station when a stranger suddenly grabbed the infant from her arms and fled down the carriage.
Fortunately, a quick-thinking relative of the mother managed to retrieve the baby from the would-be abductor. The suspect then left the train at Barnsley station.
Investigators are now appealing to the public for help in identifying the man pictured in the released image. They believe he may possess vital information that could assist in their ongoing investigation.
British Transport Police (BTP) urges anyone with information about the incident or who can identify the man in the image to come forward. Members of the public can contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference number 228 of August 18.
