Detectives from the British Transport Police have released a CCTV image of a man they believe may have information regarding a sexual assault that took place on a schoolgirl
The incident took place on a train at Kettering railway station on Tuesday, September 12 at approximately 4.45pm
According to reports, a group of schoolchildren boarded a train at Wellingborough and sat near the middle of the train. While on the train, a man initiated a conversation with one of the boys in the group. As the train approached Kettering, the children stood up and walked towards the train doors. At this point, the man allegedly made a comment about one of the girls’ physical appearance and proceeded to sexually assault her.
The children disembarked at platform two in Kettering and left the station, while the man may have boarded a train headed for Leicester.
Detectives are urging anyone who recognises the individual in the CCTV image to come forward and contact the British Transport Police. They believe that this person may have vital information that can assist in their ongoing investigation.
