Police Reopen Area Around Parliament After Suspicious Package Declared Non-Threatening

The Metropolitan Police have confirmed that a suspicious package found near the House of Lords this morning was non-suspicious, and all road closures around Parliament have now been lifted.

Police Investigation at Victoria Tower Gardens

Officers were called to Victoria Tower Gardens at 11:37 AM following reports of a suspicious package near the Parliamentary estate.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said:
“Officers were called to Victoria Tower Gardens, SW1 at 11:37hrs following reports of a suspicious package. The item has now been assessed and confirmed as non-suspicious.”

Road Closures and Reopening

As a precaution, police sealed off the area, leading to road closures around College Green and the Parliamentary estate.

Following the investigation, the area has been reopened, and normal access to Parliament and College Green has resumed.

Authorities have reassured the public that there is no ongoing threat, and no evacuations were necessary during the incident.
