Northumbria Police have released an image of a man they wish to speak to in connection with an ongoing rape investigation. The incident reportedly occurred in the early hours of Sunday, April 28, in Newcastle city centre.
According to police reports, an 18-year-old woman met a man while on a night out on Saturday, April 27. Between 01:00 and 01:30 the following morning, the man is alleged to have raped the woman while still in the city centre.
Authorities have been conducting extensive enquiries since the initial report was made. The victim is currently receiving support from specially trained officers.
Police believe the man shown in the released image was in the area at the time of the reported incident and may have information crucial to their investigation. They are urging the public to come forward if they identify him or have any relevant information.
