Emergency services rushed to the scene of a vehicle fire in Royal Approach Road, Ramsgate, on Friday evening (June 27).

Kent Fire and Rescue Service confirmed they were called to reports of a car alight at 7:56pm. Two fire engines were dispatched, and crews swiftly deployed Compressed Air Foam Systems (CAFS) to bring the flames under control.

Emergency Response

The South East Coast Ambulance Service was also in attendance and treated one individual at the scene. The extent of their injuries, if any, has not been confirmed.

Local authorities have not reported any road closures, though minor traffic disruption occurred during the emergency response.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has relevant dashcam or CCTV footage is encouraged to contact Kent Fire and Rescue Service or Kent Police via the non-emergency number 101, quoting the time and location.

Royal Approach Road runs close to residential areas and the coastal edge of Ramsgate, making the location of the fire particularly concerning for nearby residents.

Witnesses described the blaze as “intense,” with thick smoke visible from surrounding streets.
