Surrey Fire and Rescue Service’s Reigate Fire Station is set for a major redevelopment as construction begins in October. The project aims to modernise the station’s facilities, enhancing safety, efficiency, and sustainability to better serve the local community.
The redevelopment will feature several key improvements, including:
Enhanced health and safety measures for fire crews
New welfare and rest areas, such as a modern kitchen, gym, dormitories, and lounge
Expanded appliance bays to accommodate the larger fleet of engines
A dedicated space for use by the South East Coast Ambulance Service
Cleaner and more sustainable design solutions
While the station undergoes construction, Reigate Fire Station’s crew and appliances will remain operational and temporarily relocate to another building on-site to ensure continuity of service.
Chief Fire Officer Dan Quin expressed his support for the project:
“We are pleased to begin the necessary improvements to Reigate Fire Station. This investment means we can enhance and update our facilities and better serve our communities. I’d like to thank our staff, residents, and the Reigate community for their support during this project.”
The redevelopment is funded by Surrey County Council as part of a larger initiative to modernise Surrey Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) sites across the county, ensuring they are well equipped to address both current and future risks.
