Seal Pup washes ashore at Hope Beach in Shanklin

The RSCPA and the UK Coastguard have been called to Shanklin on the Isle of Wight this afternoon after a seal pup washed up on the beach after being separated from his mother. A wide area of the beach was cordoned off whilst specialist from British Divers Marine Life Rescue checked on the young pup on Tuesday afternoon. _psEmbed(“https://uknip.photoshelter.com”); The youngster who had become separated from his mum was discovered on the shoreline at Small Hope Beach at just after 12 pm by beach, goers who raised the alarm. The seal who remains alive has been now been taken to a veterinary practice in Newport to be checked.
