A serious accident has led to the closure of Barton Point Coastal Road in both directions, causing significant disruption in the area. Emergency services were called to the scene on Sunday morning following reports of a collision involving multiple vehicles.

Residents and motorists have expressed concern over the state of the road and the frequency of accidents in the area. Many took to social media to share their experiences and opinions about safety issues on the stretch of road near Barton Point.
One local, Martin Hudson, commented: “This area needs urgent intervention. Speed bumps, traffic lights, or even a one-way system could prevent these accidents.” Another resident, Rita Phipps, pointed out, “Look at the length of the skid marks. Something has to change here to stop these incidents.”
