The M3 motorway between Junction 9 for Winchester and Junction 8 for Basingstoke has been closed in both directions following a serious collision involving multiple vehicles.

Reports indicate that a vehicle was travelling in the wrong direction, resulting in a serious crash with multiple vehicles. Emergency services, including paramedics and a
ambulance, are on the scene attending to those injured, with initial reports suggesting that several people have sustained serious injuries.
Hampshire Police closed both sides of the M3 to facilitate the emergency response, and a collision investigation is underway.
The road closures are expected to last through the night, with officials advising that the closures may extend into the early hours of Sunday.
