The family of Archie York, a seven-year-old boy who tragically lost his life following an explosion in Newcastle, has paid a touching tribute to him. The explosion occurred in the early hours of Wednesday on Violet Close, where Archie was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Archie’s heartbroken parents, Katherine and Robbie, are being supported by specially-trained officers. In a statement, they described their son as their “best friend” and spoke of the light he brought into their lives.
The investigation into the cause of the explosion remains ongoing, and police cordons are expected to stay in place for some time. Northumbria Police is working closely with Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service, among other agencies, to determine the cause of the incident.
