Following an extensive investigation into a serious assault in Vauxhall, six individuals have been charged and are set to appear at the Inner London Crown Court in early November. The charges levied against them are related to grievous bodily harm, highlighting the severity of the incident.
The individuals facing charges have been identified as Djabrail Haptakaev, 20, of Perham Road, London, W14; Lewis Hysa, 21, of New York House, Stadium Way, Wembley; Joni Spahiu, 21, of Oakley House, 10 Electric Boulevard, SW11; Alkomber Kojtasi, 23, of Winchester Street, Ealing, W3; Arlinddo Kojtasi, 22, of Winchester Street, Ealing, W3 8PF; and Mickyas Oumer, 22, of Bath Court, Bath Street, EC1.
The charges stem from an incident that occurred on Sunday, 1 October, when a call was made to the police just before 04:15 reporting an assault with a metal pole on Albert Embankment, near Vauxhall Bridge on the south side of the river. As a result of the attack, a 24-year-old man sustained a serious head injury and was subsequently rushed to the hospital. Regrettably, his condition remains life-threatening, and his family has been notified, receiving support from specialised officers during this challenging time.
Detectives from the Central South Command Unit have diligently investigated the incident, leading to the charges brought against the six individuals involved. The case will now proceed to the Inner London Crown Court, where further legal proceedings will take place.
