Successful Stop and Search Operation at Woolwich Arsenal DLR Station

Officers from the Metropolitan Police’s Greenwich Safer Neighbourhoods Team (SNT), alongside colleagues from the British Transport Police (BTP), conducted a proactive search operation at Woolwich Arsenal DLR station yesterday.

During the operation, 12 individuals were stopped and searched. More than half of these searches led to positive outcomes, although officers were pleased to report that no knives were found during the checks.

A spokesperson from Greenwich MPS said: “This operation is part of our ongoing commitment to keeping the community safe and preventing crime, particularly knife-related incidents. Thankfully, no knives were found on this occasion, but the results demonstrate the importance of continued proactive policing.

The operation comes amid a wider effort across London to tackle violent crime and maintain public safety at busy transport hubs.

Police have urged members of the public to continue reporting any suspicious behaviour and to work with officers to help keep Greenwich and surrounding areas safe.
