Police officers discovered 11 suspected migrants on the hard shoulder of the M20 near junction 4 for Leybourne following reports that they had fled from the back of a lorry.
Incident Details
Motorists reported seeing individuals “running all over the place” near the motorway exit, prompting authorities to respond. The group was located at approximately 10 am near the junction.
A spokesperson for Kent Police stated:
It is reported the migrants had been traveling in a lorry, and inquiries are ongoing to locate this vehicle.
They have all since been transferred to a Home Office immigration enforcement facility in Folkestone.
