The driver of the moped sustained minor injuries, while the driver and passenger of the pursued car, both believed to be in their teens, were taken to the hospital. Authorities have not yet provided an update on their conditions.
A spokesperson for the London Fire Brigade stated, “Firefighters have been mobilised to a vehicle alight on Crooked Billet Roundabout in Walthamstow. Three motor vehicles were in collision, with one vehicle currently alight. Three fire engines and one Fire Rescue Unit from Tottenham, Edmonton, and Enfield fire stations are attending.”
The London Ambulance Service, which arrived within three minutes, said in a statement, “We were called at 2:59 p.m. to reports of a road traffic collision at the junction of Chingford Road and Billet Road, Chingford. Our crews are currently assisting our emergency services partners.”
Road closures remain in place as investigations continue. Police are urging motorists to avoid the area and follow alternative routes.
