A man has died after falling from a hot air balloon over West 1 in a shocking accident.
Emergency Called After Mid-Air Fall
Emergency services were scrambled at 9.20am on Friday, 19 September, following reports that a passenger had fallen from a balloon soaring above Newpound Common in Wisborough Green, near Billingshurst.
Body Found Hours Later
Sussex Police confirmed the man’s body was found in a nearby field around 1.50pm. He has yet to be formally identified, with investigations ongoing.
Balloon Flight Presses On
The hot air balloon, carrying a group from Billingshurst heading towards Dunsfold in Surrey, reportedly continued its journey after the tragic fall.
