Police Appeal for Information Following Attempted Robbery in Wavertree

In an update on the ongoing investigation into the murder of a man in Banbury, Thames Valley Police have officially identified the victim as Neil Comins, 39, from the town. Mr Comins lost his life due to injuries sustained during an incident on Cope Road on January 3.

A Home Office post-mortem examination has been conducted, revealing that the preliminary cause of Neil Comins’ death was a traumatic brain injury. As investigators delve deeper into the circumstances surrounding the tragic event, the victim’s next of kin are receiving support from specially-trained officers during this challenging time.

The police have taken swift action in the case, with a 48-year-old man from Banbury arrested on suspicion of murder. This individual has been released on bail, with the date set for his return to authorities on March 21. Additionally, a 39-year-old from Banbury, initially arrested and bailed in connection with the murder, has been re-arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody.
