Trio Charged with Murder of 21-Year-Old in West Kensington – UKNIP

Two men and a teenage boy have been charged with the murder of 21-year-old Janayo Lucima in West Kensington. The victim was found injured by emergency services on Comeragh Road at approximately 10:15 pm on April 1, but tragically, he was pronounced dead at the scene just before 10:55 pm.

Muktar Said, 22, residing in Franklin Square, West Kensington, along with a 17-year-old boy, is set to appear at Wimbledon Magistrates Court on Tuesday, April 10, in connection with Lucima’s murder. Additionally, Khuedr Al Kurdi, 21, from Fulham Palace Road in Hammersmith, had previously been charged with murder and appeared in court on Monday. He has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear at the Old Bailey on Wednesday, April 10.

Detective Chief Inspector Brian Howie, leading the investigation from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, emphasized the ongoing nature of the case and urged the public’s assistance. Despite significant progress with the charges and arrests, the investigation remains active, and law enforcement seeks information from witnesses.

DCI Howie stated, “We know there was a group of males, on foot or on a bike, in the area at the time of the shooting – we need to trace these people.” He appealed to anyone with information pertinent to the incident, particularly those in the vicinity of Comeragh Road, Barton Road, and Palliser Road towards Barons Court Tube Station between 9:40 pm and 10:30 pm on the night of the incident, to come forward.

He reiterated the urgency of the investigation, underscoring the commitment to identify all those responsible for Lucima’s murder and provide closure to his grieving family.
