Two motorcyclists reported to court after being caught speeding at 111mph on M40

Two motorcyclists have been reported to court after being clocked at 111mph on the M40 this morning (Sunday, 17 August 2025).

Thames Valley Police (TVP) Roads Policing officers stopped the riders, who were travelling in convoy between Junction 5 (Stokenchurch) and Junction 4 (Handy Cross, High Wycombe).

A TVP spokesperson said:

“This has not only ruined their Sunday, but risked their safety and others on this busy stretch of motorway. Motorcycles are often high-performance machines, but we must observe the limits.”

Due to the excessive speed, both riders have been reported to court.

Police are reminding all motorists that high speeds can have devastating consequences, particularly on heavily used stretches of motorway like the M40.
