Woman rushed to hospital with suspected heart attack from Shanklin Hotel

Emergency services have been called to a hotel on Queen Road in Shanklin on the Isle of Wight this afternoon. The Isle of Wight ambulance service and a fire crew stationed at Shanklin were called just after 5pm on Tuesday afternoon (July 31st) after a woman collapsed in a room within the hotel. Paramedics rushed to the scene as the woman had suffered from a suspected heart attack. Paramedics treated and stablished the woman. Due to the location of the casualty the ambulance crew, requested the assistance of the fire service to assist in moving the woman from the second floor into the awaiting ambulance. Firefighters used a salvage sheet to transport the woman due to the hotel not having a lift The woman has since been rushed to St Mary’s Hospital in Newport. Her condition remains serious.
