Tragic Crash: 93-Year-Old Woman Dies Weeks After Netherton Collision

Police are hunting witnesses to a shocking road crash near Wakefield that claimed the life of a 93-year-old woman nearly five weeks later.

What Happened on Netherton Lane?

The incident took place at 12:10pm on Tuesday, 24 February on Netherton Lane, close to the junction with Netherton Hall Drive. The elderly passenger was riding front seat in a red Hyundai i10 when it collided with a parked white Ford Transit camper van.

The Hyundai was heading from Horbury Bridge at the time. The driver, an 88-year-old man, escaped unscathed.

From Minor Injuries to Tragic Passing

Initially, the woman suffered minor injuries, but her condition worsened in the hospital. Sadly, she died in hospice care on Saturday, 28 March.

Police Launch Appeal for Witnesses

West Yorkshire Police’s Major Collision Enquiry Team is leading the investigation. Officers are urging anyone who saw the collision or anything suspicious around that time to come forward.
