The A14 motorway between Junction 14 and Junction 16 has been closed following a serious collision involving two vehicles. One of the drivers involved has been taken to the hospital, while the road closure is expected to remain in place for an extended period as Northamptonshire Police conduct their investigation.
The incident occurred when an HGV driver, who was going about his business, was unexpectedly involved in the collision. According to his account, the other two drivers attempted to perform a U-turn in the middle of the road, failing to notice his approaching lorry travelling at a speed of 56 mph. The collision resulted in significant damage to the vehicles and left the HGV driver injured.
