Three asylum seekers allegedly gang-raped a woman on a beach before having a BBQ at their hotel the next day, a court was told.

Horror Attack After Night Out in Brighton

Egyptian nationals Karin Al-Danasurt, 20, and Ibrahim Alshafe, 25, and Iranian Abdulla Ahmadi, 26, are accused of targeting a woman who got separated from her friends during a night out in Brighton last October. The victim told police she was pinned down, spat on, and kicked, and her throat was grabbed by the “laughing” men as they carried out the brutal attack.

Chilling Footage Shows Defendants BBQing After Alleged Rape

At the time, the trio were living at the Home Office-approved Cisswood House Hotel in Horsham, West Sussex. Jurors saw videos of the men enjoying a BBQ on the hotel grounds the day after the alleged assault. They were also filmed prepping for a night out before catching a bus to Brighton.

Victim Incapacitated, Defendants Callous

Prosecutor Hanna Llewellyn-Waters told the court the victim was “intoxicated and to all intents and purposes, incapacitated” when the attack happened.
“Frankly, to these defendants, the complainant was meat. She was repeatedly abused for their sexual gratification and entertainment.”
The woman remembered taking drinks from “this Asian man” before becoming sick and blacking out. She was later found “staggering in the street” alone when the defendants “cynically and callously” targeted her.

Attack Filmed as Woman Feared for Her Life

Alshafe and Ahmadi allegedly took the woman behind a beach shack and repeatedly raped her while Al-Danasurt filmed the assault, encouraging the attack. Jurors saw footage showing the “motionless” victim lying on her back with her eyes closed. One clip on Al-Danasurt’s phone showed Ahmadi covering his face during the rape. The woman described being bloodied, drifting in and out of consciousness, and terrified the men would kill her as they pinned her down.
“I don’t know why they done it to me. I’m a nice person. I hug everybody,” she said. “I just thought ‘Why are you doing this to me?’ They were laughing, violating, and recording me. I thought they were going to kill me.”

Defendants Deny Charges

Alshafe and Ahmadi, who arrived in the UK by small boats in June 2025, deny two counts of rape each. Al-Danasurt, who entered in October 2024, denies all four rape counts as a secondary party and a separate charge of sharing intimate films without consent. The trial is ongoing.
