Collision closes Staplers Road in Newport
A major road on the Isle of Wight has been closed by Police. The closure follows a traffic collision Staplers Road on the outskirts of Newport officers have put in a closure between Blacklands Lane and Landscape Lane this afternoon (Wednesday). Emergency services, are currently on scene after a collision involving a motorcycle and a van. The incident that happened just before 5pm. Traffic is being diverted via Briddlesford Road and Long Lane in Newport. Southern Vectis have also put in a diversions on the Route 9 service. The rider who is understood to have to have ridden into the back of the van has been treated for minor injuries. He has been taken to St Mary’s hospital for treatment.
