At around 9.30 pm, a black Suzuki Swift careered into crowds on Friar Gate, leaving seven people seriously injured. All victims were rushed to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening wounds, Derbyshire Police confirmed.

Man Arrested on Attempted Murder Charges

A 36-year-old Derby man, originally from India but long settled in the UK, was arrested shortly after the smash. He faces multiple charges, including attempted murder, dangerous driving causing serious injury, and grievous bodily harm with intent.
