Crash on Main Road
A driver was rushed to hospital after crashing into a fire engine responding to an emergency in Sidcup. The smash happened at the junction of Main Road and Station Road at around 10:35pm on December 3.
Emergency crews had to cut the driver free from his vehicle before paramedics treated him at the scene. He was then taken to a major trauma centre for further care.
Fire Brigade Responds
A 1 Fire Brigade spokesman confirmed the fire engine involved was on its way to an incident. Another fire engine was dispatched to cover the emergency.
“The collision is under investigation by the Brigade and the Metropolitan Police Service,” the spokesman added.

Photos from the scene show multiple fire engines, police vehicles, and ambulances, with part of Main Road cordoned off while responders dealt with the incident.

This shocking crash follows another serious collision just weeks earlier on the same stretch of road. On November 21, a motorcyclist was hospitalised in critical condition after a crash.
A 21-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving causing serious injury. She was later released on bail and also treated in hospital for her injuries.
