A Nottinghamshire drug dealer’s desperate attempt to flush his stash down the toilet ended in disaster when police arrived mid-flush.
Caught with Heroin and Crack in the Toilet Bowl
Tobe Ojukwe was found sitting on the toilet during a police raid at Stockwell Court, Mansfield, on 6 June 2024. Officers spotted a bag floating in the toilet containing 94 wraps of heroin and 37 wraps of crack cocaine – his failed bid to destroy the evidence.
Under Surveillance Since Last Year
- Ojukwe, 29, was already under investigation after being stopped by police on 1 August 2023.
- He was tracked to Padley Hill, Mansfield, based on intelligence about uninsured driving.
- A vehicle search uncovered over £450 worth of Class A drugs along with mobile phones and cash.
- Text messages on his phone revealed details of his drug supply and admission of the risks involved.
Jailed for Six and a Half Years
Ojukwe, from Froghopper Lane, Sutton-in-Ashfield, pleaded guilty to six counts of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs. Nottingham Crown Court sentenced him to six years and six months in prison on 31 March.
“Ojukwe is a persistent criminal who tried and failed twice to outsmart the police as the inevitable consequences of his trade caught up with him,” said PC Dean Fenton. “Illegal drugs are a blight on our communities and we are committed to taking dealers like Ojukwe off our streets. If people are dealing drugs in our community, they can be assured that they too can expect to come face to face with us.”
