Tragedy strikes as Tom Niland, a man in his 70s who had been in serious condition since an aggravated burglary at his home in Co Sligo early last year, has passed away. Mr. Niland, residing alone in Skreen, endured severe head and upper body injuries during the attack on January 18, 2022.
Gardaí confirmed his death at Sligo University Hospital earlier today, where he had been receiving treatment since the assault. The family of Tom Niland has requested privacy during this difficult time as they cope with the loss of their loved one.
