Emergency crews raced to St Thomas’ Road, Hastings, on Thursday evening after reports of a building collapse shook the neighbourhood. East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service (ESFRS) was called at 6:02 pm and arrived to find the structure dangerously close to falling further.

Neighbour Describes Shocking Moment

A local resident, caught up in the drama, told Sussex News, “I was taking out the bins next door when it happened. I was just 10 metres away. Quite shocked.”

No Injuries Reported, Fire Service Confirms

“We attended the scene with a structural engineer and council reps. Crews helped residents evacuate safely,” an ESFRS spokesperson said. “We are relieved to report no injuries from this incident.”
