Emergency services were called to Egmont Road, 1, on Saturday evening (16 August) after reports of a fire at a residential property.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service (ESFRS) said they were alerted at 6.56pm and deployed crews to the scene. Firefighters wearing four sets of breathing apparatus used two hose reel jets to bring the blaze under control.
At the height of the incident, six fire appliances attended, with support from Sussex Police" href="https://www.sussex.police.uk" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked" data-wpil-monitor-id="130286">Sussex Police and South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb).
Residents were urged to keep windows and doors closed due to smoke in the area, and members of the public were asked to avoid the scene while emergency crews worked.
By 7.36pm, the incident was scaled down to a single appliance as firefighters continued damping down and ensuring the property was safe.
ESFRS confirmed that a further update will be provided once investigations into the cause of the fire are complete.
