Four fire appliances sent to fire in the open in Waterlooville

A large fire in the open is being tackled by fire crews this evening. Hampshire Fire and Rescue said that they have sent four appliances to the large fire in open off Kentidge Way, Waterlooville. The blaze has broken out on the new Grainger development in the town. It is understood the call came in just after 7.30pm on Tuesday evening. Large plumes of black smoke can be seen for some distances. Due to the location a landrover and water carrier from Fareham have also been sent to deal with the incident. Fire crews from Waterlooville,Havant,Cosham and Portchester have also been mobilised to the incident. crews are using two hose reels and a jet to extinguish the fire.
