Police have launched an investigation after a woman in her 30s reported being raped in Allen Gardens, Tower Hamlets, in the early hours of Friday 18 July.
Officers from the Metropolitan Police were called to the area near Buxton Street and Cole Street, where the alleged attack took place. The park was cordoned off for two days, from 18 to 20 July, while officers carried out forensic examinations and scene enquiries.
A spokesperson for the Met Police confirmed:
“Police are investigating after a woman in her 30s reported that she had been raped in Allen Gardens, Tower Hamlets, in the early hours of Friday, 18 July.”
At this time, no arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
Appeal for Information
Detectives are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in or around Allen Gardens that morning to come forward.
