The family of 16-year-old Chloe Watson Dransfield have expressed heartfelt thanks after over £22,000 was raised to give the tragic teen “the send-off she truly deserves”.
Teen Stabbed to Death in Leeds
Chloe was fatally stabbed in Leeds, West Yorkshire, on Saturday, 28 March. Despite being rushed to the hospital, she sadly died from her injuries. An inquest opened on Friday, 10 April, at Wakefield Coroner’s Court where coroner Oliver Longstaff confirmed she died from a stab wound to the chest.
Family Launches Fundraiser to Honour Chloe
Following her death, Chloe’s cousin Shantelle launched a GoFundMe to help cover funeral costs and give Chloe the best farewell possible. The fundraiser has now surpassed £22,000, prompting an emotional thank you from the family.
“We would like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has kindly donated money to help us give Chloe the send-off she truly deserves,” said Shantelle on the fundraising page.
Three Charged with Murder
Police have charged Kayla Smith, 18, Archie Rycroft, 19, and a 17-year-old boy (not named for legal reasons) with Chloe’s murder. They are due to stand trial at Leeds Crown Court this November.

When you walk into any room it lights up with your bubbly personality. She was beautiful, full of joy, and had a wonderfully cheeky personality.” “She embraced life with such happiness, and she had her whole future ahead of her. Chloe was loved by everyone who knew her, and the absence she leaves behind is immeasurable. We will miss her forever, she will never be forgotten.”
