Major Search after Person Falls from Itchen Bridge in Southampton

A major search and rescue operation is currently on going in Southampton after a person fell from the city’s Itchen Bridge. Police and Fire are also supporting Coastguard rescue team from Hillhead and Southampton. South Central ambulance service have also sent a Paramedic team and the “HART”team to the incident after a person fell from the top of the bridge. It is unclear if the police where already talking to the person involved. The UK coastguard search and rescue helicopter Rescue 175 from Lee on the Solent is also involved in the search operation. Two Lifeboats have also been sent to the scene from Calshot and Hamble Independant. A South Central Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We received a call at 2.48pm reporting someone having fallen from the bridge into the water. “We are currently at the scene with an ambulance, a paramedic team leader and the hazardous area response team, and other services are also involved in searching the water.” https:///youtu.be/HfOnOyzRtak More to Follow
