Police rushed to Red Lion Place at 8.50am today (April 1) after reports of a man armed with a knife. The horrifying scene unfolded quickly.

At the scene, officers and London Ambulance paramedics found a woman with serious injuries. She was rushed to the hospital but sadly later died.

Man in 60s Arrested on Murder Suspicion
A man in his 60s handed himself in at a nearby police station just after 9.10am. He was arrested on suspicion of murder and taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Police believe the woman and the suspect knew each other. No other suspects are being sought.

“This is a deeply tragic incident,” said Detective Inspector Dean Grice. “Our thoughts remain with the victim’s family during this difficult time.”
“Officers worked quickly with paramedics to provide care. A detailed investigation is underway, and specialist officers are supporting the family.”
