Marks & Spencer (M&S) has issued an urgent warning to customers not to eat its Smooth Butternut Squash Soup due to possible contamination with small pieces of metal. The affected product is being recalled, and the Food Standards Agency (FSA) has issued a “do not eat” warning for soup with a use-by date of October 6.

An FSA spokesman said: “Marks & Spencer is recalling the above product. Point-of-sale notices will be displayed in all retail stores that are selling this product. These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product.
M&S has reassured customers that they are taking all necessary measures to ensure their safety and that they are committed to producing high-quality, safe products.
