Chaos erupted in the early hours on Edgware Road as six fire engines and 40 firefighters battled a fierce blaze at a shop with flats above. The fire tore through the ground-floor shop and damaged parts of the first and second floors.
Man Hospitalised Amid Fiery Mayhem
London Ambulance Service rushed a man to the hospital following the fire. Firefighters also discovered a dangerous gas cylinder on the first floor. Acting fast, they removed and cooled it to prevent a possible explosion, a smart move given the risk of cylinders blowing up when heated.
Quick Response Contained Fire Before Dawn
The Brigade’s Control Officers took the first emergency call at 3:36 AM. Fire crews from Paddington, Soho, Kensington, North Kensington, and nearby stations scrambled to the scene. By 4:53 AM, the fire was under control, preventing even worse damage.
Investigation Underway Into Cause
Authorities are now investigating to find out what sparked the early morning inferno that left residents shaken and a building scarred.
