Pensioner Ploughs into Wall of a Block of Flats in Fareham

Part of Quay Street near the former Fareham Police station had to be closed this afternoon. The closure was put in place was after a car ploughed into a wall of a block of flats near to the market quay car park. The exit to the car park was also closed whilst fire crews removed the roof of the vehicles and made the area safe. Firefighters removed the roof of the Renault and the Vauxhall using hydraulic cutting equipment for free the drivers after a complaint of neck and back pain. It is understood that the car was rammed from behind. A Hampshire Fire spokesman said crews were called at 2.30pm with reports of a collision on Quay Street between two private vehicle.
