Police appeal to help identify the body of man found in Wallasey

Detectives investigating the discovery of a body in Wallasey this morning (Monday 20 May) are issuing a description in an attempt to identify the man. At around 6.30am, police were called to the report of a man’s body being found at the lake in Central Park, Liscard Road, Wallasey. The man was pronounced dead at the location and his body has been recovered. A Post Mortem will be carried out to establish the cause of his death, which is currently being treated as unexplained. The man is described as white, 45-50 years old, bald, around 5ft 8in tall. He was wearing a red/white/blue hoodie, black jeans with a brown belt and black boots. A pair of glasses were also recovered near to the body. Detective Inspector Paul Parry said: “Extensive enquiries are underway to identify this man. I would ask anyone who has information to come forward, whether you recognise who he might be, or have concerns about the wellbeing of a loved one you haven’t heard from recently.” Anyone with information can contact @MerPolCC, or you can call 101 with reference 118.
